Shout out to Wilco Director Tim Bidstrup who said goodbye to the constraints of desk work last week, to return to the tools on a project located in one of the most remote Communities in Australia.

Kunawarritji, which is Boodja to the Martu people from Punmu is situated 550km East of Marble Bar in the Gibson Desert, 5km from Well 33 on the Canning Stock Route. The Martu are the traditional owners of a large part of Central Western Australia extending form the Great Sandy Desert to the North and around Wiluna in the South.

Partnering with our brothers at Kardan Construction, we were engaged to design and install the lighting on Kunawarritji’s first sporting facility – a covered basketball and netball court at the Rawa Kunawarritji Rawa Community School.

"Being involved in a project which is so critical to the health, safety and engagement of the students of this community has been incredibly humbling and rewarding, knowing that these new facilities will impact positively the educational outcomes for the children of Kunawarritji" Tim Bidstrup

Over 5000km was covered by Tim in just over a week, of some of the most challenging of road conditions in this incredible Country.
