For the past couple of months Wilco have been on a journey with FISH - Foundation for Indigenous Sustainable Health (FISH), joining them over four half day Personal Development sessions which were specifically tailored to provide “head, heart and spirit” knowledge of Australia’s Aboriginal history and an insight into the worlds longest continuous culture.

Our final PD was held on Bindjareb Boodjar and was an important session connecting us to and walking the country with the original custodians of the land. We were honoured to learn about local historical events, the six seasons and what occurs in each including what food was available from the local flora and fauna. We learned of the historical reserves and our hearts were heavy as we walked and relived the massacre of the Bindjareb Noongar people in what today is known as Pinjarra.

Enlightened to the history and empowered by the knowledge we have gained from this PD, we are looking forward to continuing our work with FISH in a movement to bring about change into our future.
